Cocoa Drops

Imagine a bite of a scrumptious chocolate cupcake.   Cocoa drops are cupcakes in "cookie" form.   Nuts are optional (but always tasty).


Cocoa Drops
  • ²/3 cup butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa
  • ²/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1¾ cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup nuts, chopped
Cream butter and brown sugar.  Add salt, vanilla, and cocoa.  Mix well.  Add egg.  Mix well.  Combine flour and baking soda, in a separate bowl.  Alternately add milk and flour mixture to butter mixture, until just mixed.  Stir in nuts.

Preheat oven to 350°.  Drop batter by teaspoon onto greased sheet pan.  Bake 8 minutes.  Allow cookies to cool.  Frost with powdered sugar icing, or powdered sugar glaze.



Cocoa Drops are light, delicate, and freeze well.
